The Algerian Embassy in Tokyo commemorates the National Day of Remembrance, May 8, 1945–2026: A people who sacrificed themselves... triumphed

Under the slogan “A People Who Sacrificed and Triumphed”, the Algerian Embassy in Tokyo commemorated the National Day of Remembrance, marking the 81st anniversary of the massacres of May 8, 1945. The event included the playing of the national anthem, a minute of silence, and a recitation of Al-Fatiha Surat of the Holy Quran in memory of our noble martyrs. In his speech, His Excellency Ambassador Toufik Milat highlighted the significance of this commemoration, which embodies the Algerian people’s spirit of resilience and defiance in the face of colonialism, with the aim of regaining freedom and sovereignty.
