The third session of the Algerian-Italian Strategic Dialogue
The third session of the Algerian-Italian Strategic Dialogue on bilateral relations and comprehensive political and security issues was held in the Italian capital, Rome. It was chaired by Mr. Lounes Magramane, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, and his Italian counterpart, Mr. Riccardo Guariglia, Secretary General of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This session, which was attended by a large, multi-sectoral delegation, provided an opportunity for both parties to conduct an interim evaluation of bilateral cooperation and its prospects in various sectors, in light of the outcomes adopted during the second session of this mechanism held in Algiers on July 2 and 3, 2024. It also marked an important step in preparing for upcoming bilateral events, particularly the fifth Algerian-Italian summit.
During these discussions, Mr. Magramane and his Italian counterpart engaged in in-depth exchanges regarding the status and prospects for strengthening Algerian-Italian relations, as well as shared regional and international issues, notably the situation in Gaza, the Western Sahara issue, the situation in the Sahel region, and relations between Algeria and the European Union.
