Attaf receives phone call from British counterpart
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call this evening from the Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Mr. David Lammy.
The discussions between the two ministers focused on Algerian-British relations, as well as on regional and international issues of mutual interest to both countries.
In this context, both parties praised the excellent level of relations between Algeria and Britain, particularly in areas related to trade and investment. They agreed to implement several steps aimed at maintaining the growing momentum of bilateral cooperation, including holding the third session of the strategic dialogue soon in Algeria, under the leadership of the foreign ministers of both countries.
Regarding political matters, the two ministers exchanged views and analyses on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the surrounding region. They emphasized that achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza is the cornerstone of any efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East. The two sides also reviewed the political and security developments in the Sahel region and discussed ways to contribute to enhancing peace, security, and development in the area.
